CAN cautions religious leaders in new year message

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed optimism for the year 2023 for a great turnaround and total victory over Socio-Political Challenges facing the nation.

In a New year message to Nigerians, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Archbishop Daniel Okoh who appreciated God for seeing the nation through the dangers and threats of the Year 2022, believes that 2023 will be a year of golden opportunities for the nation.

The CAN President, therefore, appeals to security agencies not to relent in their efforts to ensure safety and security, especially for the conduct of the forthcoming general election.

The National Christian Body advises politicians to be more responsible in playing politics with the best interest of the masses at heart while calling on religious leaders to desist from utterances capable to truncate the peaceful conduct of the elections.

“While we look forward to having a better Nigeria, let us continue praying that the Lord will strengthen our present political leaders to oversee the elections and a successful transition to a new administration in 2023.” the statement in part reads.

The Christian Association of Nigeria promises a continued partnership with the government, civil societies and development partners to build a peaceful and prosperous country.
