Edo State Government has recanted its earlier figures of kidnap victims of last Saturday’s Iguben Train Station attack stating that twenty persons not thirty-two were kidnapped.
State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Mr Chris Nehikhare made the retraction in a news briefing in Benin City.
Mr Nehikhare claimed that the new figure was from a recent intelligence report available to it.
Meanwhile, the state government has reiterated its earlier admonition to property owners, warning them not to harbor any criminal or kidnapped victims.
The rescue effort by the combined team of the police, local vigilante and hunters is still ongoing.
