Lagos Police arrest woman, partner for molesting biological children

The Lagos state police command has arrested a woman and her partner for allegedly battering her two children, aged 5 and 2.

The woman identified as Busola Oyediran and her partner, Akebiara Emmanuel, were arrested on Friday by the police following a tip-off by neighbors.

The concerned neighbors had alerted the police of the constant physical abuse of the minors by their biological mother and her partner.

In light of the report, the police stormed the Egbeda/Idimu home of the couple and arrested them.

The police later visited the hospital where the neighbors had taken the battered children for treatment.

During interrogation, Busola (the mother of the infants) claimed the kids fell from a motorcycle and suffered serious injuries.

Confirming the arrests to newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin, said the couple has been detained and will be arraigned in court by Monday, January 16.

He said the biological father of the children has been informed accordingly.
