Harry Kane equals Jimmy Greaves club goals record for Spurs

Striker Harry Kane has now moved level with Jimmy Greaves as Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time leading scorer as his 266th goal for the club clinched a 1-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Monday night.

Kane equalled the record in brilliant style, spinning away from Tim Ream on the edge of the Fulham box and firing an unstoppable effort into the corner just before half-time.

Greaves, who started his career at Chelsea, scored 266 goals in 379 games for Spurs between 1961 and 1970.

Kane, who made his Spurs debut in 2011, has played 415 times for the club.

Fulham, meanwhile, remain seventh, as the night’s defeat was compounded by the sight of their top scorer, Aleksandar Mitrovic having to be helped off the pitch after suffering an ankle injury following a challenge with Eric Dier.

Harry Kane is the third top scorer since the Premier League was created in 1992 after Alan Shearer, with 260, and Wayne Rooney, with 208 goals.
