Nigerian Singer, Tems gets Oscar award nomination

Nigerian Singer, Tems has made history by becoming the first Nigerian artist to earn an Oscar nomination in the category of ”Best Original song”.

Her song ”Lift Me Up” served as the lead single from the soundtrack album of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which was performed by Rihana.

Meanwhile, the 95th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, has also released its full list of nominated films and performers for the 2023 edition of the award ceremony.

The unveiling was done at Oscars HQ in Hollywood and is scheduled to take place at the Dolby theatre in Los Angeles, California, on March 12,2023.

Lady Gaga’s ”Hold My Hand” is also nominated in that category with Tems as her song was the lead single to the soundtrack for the film Top Gun: Maverick.
