Zamfara State Police Command has paraded eight suspected criminals in the capital, Gusau.
,Also on display were 15 locally fabricated AK-47 rifles and 146 rounds of AK-47 live ammunition which the police said they had recovered from terrorists across the state.
The command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Shehu Mohammed addressed journalists while parading the suspects on Wednesday.
He said a tactical team from the Command, which was acting on intelligence reports, made a move to arrest some gunrunners, whereupon they recovered an abandoned sack of 10 locally fabricated AK-47 rifles and three fabricated revolver pistols along Munhaye forest.
SP Mohammed said the police also arrested two bandits’ collaborators at Bela Village in Bungudu Local Government Area. They were in possession of dried leaves suspected to be indian hemp.


He also said the suspects were part of a criminal syndicate that gave information to bandits who have been terrorising Bungudu, Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji local government areas.
Another “notorious criminal” from Gubuchi local government of Kaduna State, who specialises in cattle rustling and kidnapping, was arrested by the police tactical team, Mr Mohammed announced.
He added that a syndicate of fraudsters from Kano State specialising in defrauding bank customers in Kano, Kaduna, Katsina and Zamfara state were arrested with N1 million recovered from them.
