Kogi State National Orientation Agency, NOA, has taken the sensitisation of the newly re-designed currency to the streets of Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
The State Director of the Agency, Mrs Florence Oluyemisi during the flag off of the sensitization campaign, explained that the enlightenment became imperative on the authenticity of the new currency and availability of the currency in the country.
Mrs Florence Oluyemisi said the old two hundred, five hundred and one thousand naira notes were still regarded as tender currency until February 31.
She urged those still in possession of the old Naira notes to deposit them in their Bank Account before the deadline.



The road walk started from Chari Maigumeri Barracks to Zango, Phase one Market, Ganaja junction, Adamkolo Market, Old Market, NATACO, Felele and terminated at the National Orientation Agency Lokoja.
In a remark, Deputy Director, Documentation, translation and publication of NOA, Mr Patrick Edogbanya stressed the need for people to take the last minute message seriously in order not to lose their hard earned money.
Mr Edogbanya said the newly re-designed currency was introduced to check counterfeiting as well as inflation in the country.
