NPC warns facilitators against complacency during census

The National Population commission (NPC) has charged census facilitators to be security conscious while carrying out their assignment.

NPC Federal Commissioner in Kano, Dr Isma’il Sulaiman said this in a training for facilitators of the forthcoming 2023 national census.

Dr Sulaiman said the Commission will provide security personnel to the facilitators alongside other NPC ad-hoc staff to enable them conduct the census “without any problem “.

“You have to be vigilant because of the current security situation in Nigeria, so make sure you inform security of any suspicious move “. He said

He said the commission has concluded all arrangement in terms of security, equipment and other logistics to have a smooth conduct of the exercise.

When the facilitators complete the training, they are expected to step down and train other census functionaries, especially denominators, supervisors and field coordinators, at the local government level, he added.

“This census is technologically driven, this census is using the most advanced technological method to under take enumerations”.

Dr Sulaiman also advised the facilitators to make their own contribution towards insuring a smooth conduct of the exercise.
