The Federal Fire Service (FFS) has deployed six modern fire-fighting trucks to some States as part of efforts to ensure the safety of Nigerians before, during and after the general Election.
The Controller-General, FFS, Jaji Abdulganiyu made this known in Abuja, while briefing newsmen on the level of preparedness ahead of the elections.
Mr Abdulganiyu warned hoodlums against attacking INEC Offices and its personnel Nationwide.
He said the Six modern fire trucks deployed to Kano, Kwara, Oyo, Edo and Lagos States would further strengthen fire-fighting infrastructure.
“We will take appropriate action against the perpetrators of these attacks within the confines of the law,” he warned.
“We must ensure the safety of INEC infrastructure, personnel and integrity of the electoral process,” he said.
Mr Jaji added that as a part of President Buhari’s administration’s efforts in supporting the Fire Service, about 15 Rapid Intervention Vehicles were also approved. The aim, according to the administration is to increase fire safety inspection across the Country.
The event had in attendance members of the FFS top management team, including zonal Controllers, Head of Departments and Commanding officers.
