The police in Kwara State say they have beefed up security to prevent the planned attack of banks by hoodlums following hardships experienced in accessing redesigned naira notes in the state.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations officer, SP Okasanmi Ajayi said Intelligence available to the Command indicated that hoodlums have perfected plans to replicate the lawlessness that was unleashed on some banks in some states of the federation.
He said the planned attack was as a result of the crisis emanating from the redesigned Naira notes swap going on across the country.
Mr Ajayi assured the people of Kwara State of the command’s readiness to “deal ruthlessly” with any lawbreaker.
He warned those planning attacks on banks to “shelve the idea”.
