Kaduna govt partners Italy to boost economy

The Kaduna State government says that it is ready to work with Italy on projects that will benefit the State’s economy.

Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe made this known when she received the Italy Ambassador to Nigeria in her office at government house Kaduna.

Kaduna State is open to business, according to Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, who also noted that the state had attracted 4.8 billion dollars in investments across a variety of sectors since 2016.

She said out that the state  government had created two economic zones which include the Green Agro-Allied Industrial Zone GAAIZ, and the Green Economic Zone GEZ, as well as the  creation of strong institutions like KADIPA among others.

Dr Balarabe explained that, Tourism and Cultural Sectors, construction, agriculture, vocational education and skills training as well as modern rearing are some of the keys Sectors of interest for collaboration.

In a remark, the Italy Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Stefano De Leo said the purpose of the visit was to discuss areas of possible cooperation and relations with Kaduna State government because of their long relationship.

Mr De Leo stressed the need for the state government to consider Italy in all areas of its specialization with a view  to bring companies to heavily invest in Kaduna particularly in the areas of  Agriculture, Science and Training of youths and other key Sectors.

The Italian Ambassador was accompanied by his Deputy-Tarek Chazli and Pifr Paow Messina, a consulate staff.
