French international, Kingsley Coman again repeated his 2020 Champions League final heroics as German BundesLiga champions, Bayern Munich defeated Paris St-Germain in their last-16 first-leg tie in Paris.
Coman volleyed home the winner early in the second half.
He also scored the only goal when Bayern overcame his former club, PSG, to win the Champions League three years ago.
Substitute Kylian Mbappe, who was forced back from injury, looked to have rescued a draw for the hosts, but his late effort was ruled out for offside in the build-up.
French Ligue 1 champions, PSG have now lost their last three matches in all competitions, while Bayern are unbeaten in all competitions since September 17 and are now favourites to reach the quarter-finals, despite having defender, Benjamin Pavard sent off for a second booking in injury time.
In the other champions league match played on Tuesday night, Tottenham’s roller coaster season continued as they suffered a 1nil defeat at the San Siro at the hands of AC Milan.
The only goal of the match was scored by Brahim Diaz at the 7-minute mark.
Both PSG and Tottenham will have to be at their best when they play the return legs come Match 8.
