Few days to the elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, has reassured Nigerians of the credibility of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, (BVAS) saying it would be difficult for anyone to manipulate the election results.
The National Commissioner Voter Education and Publicity INEC, Mr Festus Okoye stated this at a breakfast meeting in Abuja organized by the New National Star Newspaper.
Mr Okoye who was represented by a Deputy Director in the Commission, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ugbuaja, explained that party agents would be allowed to inspect BVAS, Ballot Boxes, result sheets and other INEC materials before the commencement of voting on election day for transparency and accountability reason.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council Federal University of Technology Akure, Ambassador Godknows Igali, encouraged the citizens to be committed in electing credible leaders in all elections.
The Managing Director Montage Africa Media, Dr. Obbina Nwachukwu, said the breakfast meeting was organized to interrogates some electoral violence and ensure peaceful elections.
Other speakers at the event advised citizens to avoid being used as agents of violence in the forthcoming elections.
