The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, has commenced distribution of sensitive election materials across the country.
In Niger State, INEC took delivery of the sensitive materials from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Minna branch for onward delivery to the state’s 25 local councils.
Distributing the materials to local governments Electoral Officers at the premises of CBN, Minna branch, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ahmed Yushau Garki explained that the sensitive materials would be distributed to the 4,950 registration centers in Niger state.
Similarly in Osun State, journalists were refused entrance into the premises of the CBN in Osogbo to observe the collection of sensitive election materials by election stakeholders.
The journalists who had converged on the premises of the CBN in company of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Mutiu Agboke and representatives were stopped by security men attached to the bank who said they were acting on order from above.

The Osun State REC, Dr Mutiu Agboke who addressed the Bank senior officials and insisted that the matter had earlier been resolved at a security meeting preceding the events.
In Kebbi State, the INEC REC, Ahmed Bello Mahmud confirmed that the electoral umpire has completed delivery of non -sensitive materials to 21 local government areas of the State.
Similarly, in Ondo State, INEC’s Administrative Secretary of INEC in the state, Mr Oyekola Oyelami said the Commission was committed to conducting credible, free and fair election as he confirmed that the electoral umpire has taken delivery of sensitive materials.
