The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Kogi State has organised a Road Walk to sensitize people on the need for eligible voters to adhere strictly to INEC guidelines on peaceful and credible Elections.

Acting Director, NOA, Kogi State, Florence Oluyemisi Olorunmisola announced the sensitization exercise to Newsmen in Lokoja on Friday.

She appealed to eligible voters to “come out enmasse” for Saturday’s general election and “participate in the process” of electing new Leaders that will take the Nation to the “next level of development”.

Mrs Olorunmisola restated the call to eligible voters not to violate INEC’s Electoral Guidelines, such as underaged voting, vote-buying and selling, wearing of Party uniforms, perpetrating acts of violence and drunken behaviour.

She insisted that INEC had made the elections stress-free by introducing the BVAS device, assuring Kogi residents that their votes will count.

The NOA Acting Director also advised residents of the state to vote according to their conscience, rather than allow themselves to be manipulated by “any party agent”.

There was also the need, she stressed, for voters to ensure they thumb-print properly during the process, in order to forestall void votes. She urged them to “seek clarifications” from INEC officials whenever in doubt.

She cautioned party agents against indulging in “electoral vices”, saying that could jeopardise the electoral process.

Election is “not a do or die affair”, she said, and urged Nigerians to “accept in good faith” the final verdict as issued by INEC.
