Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson’s husband, Prince Odianosen Okojie, has won the House of Representatives seat for Esan South-East/Esan North-East Federal Constituency of Edo State.
In Saturday’s election, Prince Okojie, who contested under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), polled a total of 21,764 votes, beating to second place the Labour Party candidate who scored 11,528, followed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate who garnered 10,007 votes.
The results were announced on Sunday by the Returning Officer for the constituency, Dr Victor Imade.
Prince Okojie shared his victory on his social media page with a caption that read: “With gratitude to God Almighty, My Family and the support of the good people of AGBAZILO, I was declared the winner of the Election for the Federal House of Representatives. Esan North-East/Esan South-East federal constituency 2023. Thank you for all your support and love. I am sincerely grateful.”
“All elections are contested to be won and I am happy I won this.”
