The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the just concluded election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has asked his supporters not to despair, assuring them that the battle to retrieve what he called their stolen mandate was underway.
Alhaji Atiku, who spoke through the Director, Public Affairs of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Dino Melaye, in Abuja, urged his supporters “all over the world” not to be perturbed.
Senator Melaye quoted a Bible passage, saying “Weeping may tarry till night but joy cometh in the morning.”
“This grave injustice shall not stand,” he vowed.
According to him, the battle to retrieve what he describes as Alhaji Atiku’s “stolen mandate” is a battle of “no retreat, no surrender”.
” We shall overcome,” he maintained.
He was referring to the declaration by the electoral umpire that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress had won Saturday’s Presidential election.
On Wednesday, President-Elect Tinubu and his Vice-President-Elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, were presented with their certificates of return by INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu.
