Israelis in hundreds of thousands are protesting against government plans to overhaul the judicial system.
Commentators have described this as the biggest street protest in the country’s history.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the changes that would curb the power of courts will restore balance between the branches of government.
BBC reports that, opponents say the changes threaten democracy and at one of Saturday’s rallies, opposition leader Yair Lapid said this was Israel’s “greatest crisis”.
