Seven-time U-20 Africa Cup of Nations champions the Flying Eagles of Nigeria have won the 2023 AFCON Fair Play award.
CAF’s Technical Study Group (TSG) at the tournament named Flying Eagles for the award after the tournament ended on Saturday.
The U-20 side from Nigeria were awarded the prize after the final between Senegal and Gambia at the weekend.
TSG gave the award based on Nigeria’s professionalism, dedication, passion and discipline during the 23rd edition of the tournament which took place in Egypt.
Ladan Bosso tutored side won the third place play-off match defeating the Young Carthage Eagles of Tunisia 4nil last Friday in Cairo to win bronze.
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will be one of four teams representing the African continent at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia later in the year.
