CAF inspection team to visit Nigeria, Benin

An inspection team from CAF will visit Nigeria and Benin Republic between March 31 and April 2nd to inspect facilities for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria and Benin Republic are planning a joint bid to co-host Africa’s elite soccer event.

The team from CAF are expected to inspect stadia, training facilities, hotels and other important infrastructure that will ensure smooth running of the competition.

The other countries that submitted bids to host the biennial event are Morocco, Algeria and Zambia.

Guinea were originally scheduled to host the competition but have now been stripped of the right due to inadequacy and speed of progress in preparations.

The last time Nigeria hosted AFCONS was in 2000 and it was a joint bid with Ghana.
