The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reconfigured all its 2,886 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS machines in Kwara state.
The State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mallam Garba Attahiru-Madami made this known during a citizens sensitization with the theme: “Towards a Successful 2023 Governorship and State Houses of Assembly Elections” organised by the National Orientation Agency, NOA in Ilorin the state capital.
Mallam Attahiru-Madami explained that all the challenges experienced during the Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state have been addressed to avoid recurrence.
Mallam Attahiru-Madami said late arrival of polling officials and electoral materials, dry ink pad, BVAS failure and over voting have been looked into.
Represented by the Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Mallam Adamu Musa, State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner assured electorates in Kwara State that arrangements have been concluded for refresher training for polling officials and prompt transportation of sensitive and non-sensitive materials for the Saturday election.
He noted added that movement of materials and personnel will commence on Thursday to guard against late arrival on election day.
Earlier, the Kwara State Director of NOA, Mr Olusegun Adeyemi said the program was put together for the appraisal of the Presidential and National Assembly elections and plan for the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections.
