Champions League: Police arrest fans in Naples

Eight football fans have been arrested following a violent clash between the supporters of Eintracht Frankfurt and Napoli after the Champions League match on Wednesday.

Napoli defeated Frankfurt by 3goals to nil thereby qualifying to the quarter final stages on 4-0 aggregate having won the the first leg in Germany by 1-0.

According to Naples Police, Five Napoli fans and three Frankfurk supporters have been arrested.

Fans living in Frankfurt were banned from the last-16 second leg after trouble at the first game in Germany, but hundreds travelled to Italy anyway.

The BBC says six police officers were injured during the clash which started on Wednesday afternoon.
