The West African Examination Council, WAEC has launched an Educational Statistics Platform that will enable the public have access to its data needed for research, planning and development purposes.
The Head of National Office of WAEC in Nigeria, Mr. Patrick Areghan launched the platform at the Council’s Office in Yaba, Lagos.
He said the platform was necessitated by the barrage of requests the Council usually received from the public, particularly, government agencies, researchers and some individuals that needed some WAEC educational data for development or investigative purposes.
According to him, there was need for WAEC to have all the statistical data relating to the examinations it had conducted in the past,
Mr. Areghan also, explained that with the new Educational Statistics Platform, the public can easily log onto the designated website of the council to access whatever data they required as far as WAEC examinations were concerned.
The WAEC boss in Nigeria added that the issue of some state governments claiming that students in their state had the best results in WAEC examination in a particular year could now be verified on the platform.
