Former Chief of General Staff and Military Governor of Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria, Oladipo Diya will be given a state burial.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun during a condolence visit at the Lagos residence of the late Diya’s family said a committee of State Executive Council members would liaise with the family to give the deceased a befitting burial.
“General Diya was a man of many parts. His life epitomized integrity and character. He was a soldier and gentleman, a lawyer with an eventful career. He rose to the peak of his career as the Chief of General Staff”, Governor Dapo eulogises Diya.
One of the sons of the late General, Oyedamola Diya who spoke on behalf of the family appreciated the governor for showing concerns to the family.
Diya, who served as the Chief of General Staff to the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, died on Sunday.
