Ikpeazu promises to hand over strong economy

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu says his administration will be handing over a State with a stronger economic foundation and growth indices, to the succeeding administration.

The Governor made the pledge while receiving in audience the Southeast Inspection Monitoring Team from the National Economic Council at the Governor’s Lodge in Aba.

Governor Ikpeazu insisted that “every available sociopolitical and socioeconomic index” proved that the “requisite foundations” have been laid for the next administration to consolidate.

He thanked the Team for coming to the State to have first-hand information on his administration’s efforts in the provision of Basic and Social Infrastructure for the people of the State.

Earlier, the Leader of the Team and Deputy Director, Special Duties, National Economic Council, Dorothy Uwaoma told the Governor that the team was in the State under the resolution of the National Economic Council to move around the states in the country and get first-hand information on the projects and policies put in place across the states and to institute a peer review mechanism wherein states can emulate each other.

She expressed satisfaction with what the team saw during the tour, saying she was delighted at the Mother and Child Hospital at Umuahia as well as the Enyimba Automated Shoe Company, Aba.
