Chelsea has announced Former club legend Frank Lampard as interim manager.
Co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali announced the appointment in a joint statement on Thursday.
‘’As we continue our thorough and exhaustive process for a permanent head coach, we want to provide the club and our fans with a clear and stable plan for the remainder of the season. We want to give ourselves every chance of success and Frank has all of the characteristics and qualities we need to drive us to the finish line’’, the statement reads.
Frank Lampard was seen at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night watching Chelsea’s goalless draw against Liverpool.
Despite his previous sack as head coach in 2021, Lampard is open to help until the end of the season on Thursday.
The 44-year-old Chelsea’s record goal scorer is set to take charge for Chelsea’s next game at Wolves on Saturday.
