The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has sealed two shops containing unregistered drugs and psycho active substances worth 15 million naira in street value.
At an operation in one of the locations in Zuba Motor Park where the Agency discovered a shop full of unwholesome drugs, the Deputy Director, Investigation and Enforcement Directorate, Mr. Tamanuwa Andrew Baba said most of the drugs were either expired, unregistered and harmful.
He said a drug with the production name “Hajia Aisha” or “Hajia Salama” discovered to be smuggled from Ghana contained a substance called “Pyridine” which can cause cancer and other diseases.
At the second location in Utako market where Aphrodisiac drugs were seized, Mr Baba said such drugs had led to the death of many men.
He urged men to seek proper medication from credible health institutions to treat their sex related problems.
The sales boy to the owner of the shop at Utako, Isah Sani said they usually purchased the drugs from Lagos, Kano and other parts of the country.
Isah who was remorseful urged others in the same illicit business to desist from the act.
