Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of former Deputy Governor of the state, Professor Onje Gye -Wado by unknown gunmen.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Ramhan Nansel says unspecified number of gunmen invaded the resident of the former Deputy Governor in Wamba Local Government Area of the state at the early hours of Friday and took him to an unknown destination.
The statement explains that the police in a swift response to the incidence, mobilized its personnel to the area but the hoodlums had already fled with the victim before their arrival at the scene.
It adds that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Maiyaki Baba had further deployed reinforcement teams of Police, military, vigilante, and local hunters to complement the ongoing search for immediate rescue of the former Deputy Governor and arrest perpetrators.
