Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has congratulated the Christian community in the state on the Easter festivities, calling it a period of self-discipline, sacrifice, forgiveness, and commitment to God.
In a statement by the Chief press secretary Rafiu Ajakaye , Governor AbdulRazaq urged Nigerians to take advantage of the period to seek God’s favour for the country and eschew all divisive tendencies.
“The Easter festivities come at a unique moment in our national life when we have just elected new representatives and chief executives to pilot the affairs of the country for the next four years.” Governor AbdulRazq said
He noted that in the spirit of the Easter, and of the Muslim’s holy month of Ramadan, there is the need to bury the hard feelings that came with electioneering campaign and join new leaders for the task of nation building .
Similarly, the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum has felicitate with Christians in the state and the rest of Nigeria on the occasion of Easter celebration.
In a statement by his spokesman, Malam Isa Gusau, the Governor urges citizens in Borno State to pray for the full restoration of peace in the state.
“As we round off our first term, I want to specially request that all the good people of Borno State commit our second term to prayers by devoutly asking God to guide us towards the full restoration of peace, towards the safe resettlement of citizens still displaced, towards reviving the means of livelihoods across all communities previously affected by insurgents’ destructions and the strengthening of economies in areas less affected by attacks in all senatorial zones.” Zulum said
The Governor urged security agencies to sustain the effort in preserving security during the festive period and far beyond.
Niger State Governor
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state has felicitated with Christians in the state on the celebration of Easter and implored them to sustain prayers for lasting peace in the state and Nigeria.
The Governor in his Easter message in Minna maintained that Easter is a significant celebration observed by Christians to reflect on the love and sacrifice exemplified by Jesus who is the foundation of Christianity.
Bello enjoined them to celebrate Easter solemnly and exhibit the virtues of love, selflessness, forgiveness, perseverance, as well as sacrifice, which are the hallmarks of the celebration.
“I congratulate you on the celebration of Easter. As you celebrate, it is important that you reflect on the virtues of Jesus Christ who is the reason for the season and practice them.
