As Christian faithful continues to celebrate Easter, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged Nigerians to use the celebration to pray for the smooth completion of the transition process from one administration to another.
In an Easter message, the NOA Director General, Dr Garba Abari described Easter as a period of selflessness and supplications, urging Nigerians to pray for peace, love and tolerance which are the virtues that Easter represents.
Abari further appealed to Nigerians, across all religious persuasions, to use the occasion of Easter for sober reflections on how they can add value to the lives of others and be more accommodating.
“Patriotism is about loving your compatriots and your nation as yourself, according to the teachings of Jesus. Let us put the love of compatriots and country above selfish interests. This will eliminate the desire for criminality, abuse, corruption and resort to self-help which are all fueled by self-centeredness and contrary to the spirit of the season”.
While wishing Nigerians a happy Easter, the NOA Director General admonished citizens to remain vigilant and security conscious throughout the celebrations.
