Five killed, six injured in Kentucky shooting

Five persons have been killed in a shooting at a bank in Louisville, Kentucky.

Kentucky Police said six other persons including a police officer were injured and are receiving treatment at different local hospitals.

The BBC quoted the Kentucky police as saying their personnel who responded to the situation were met with stiff gunfire and have therefore warned members of the public to avoid that area.

The shooting is said to have happened at Louisville’s Old National Bank in the city’s downtown area which is very close to the Louisville Slugger Field baseball stadium and several blocks from the Kentucky International Convention Centre and Muhammad Ali Centre.
