The new Super Mario Movie has been scored the most successful global opening of all time for an animated film thereby breaking box office records in the process.
The animated family film took $377m around the world in its first five days on release which overtook the previous record of £358m held by Frozen 2.
BBC quoted, David Gross, a movie analyst, as saying that the numbers which the animated Super Mario is making as sensational as it would go places in 2023
The film has also broken other records, including the best-ever opening for a movie based on a video game and the top opening of 2023 so far.
Another Comscore analyst, Paul Dergarabedian, described the movie as one of the biggest box office over-performances in recent memory.
