A seven storey building under construction in Banana Island, Lagos has collapsed on Wednesday.
This was confirmed in a statement by the Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tayo Bamgbose-Martins.
Mr Bamgbose-Martins who said no fatality was recorded noted that those who sustained injuries have been treated.
The commissioner who visited the site after the incident to assess the situation explained that the structure collapsed while casting was being done.
He announced that the State Government did not grant approval for the construction.
He urged members of the public to remain calm and expect further information as investigation begins to unravel the cause of the incidence.
