New Zealand is set to have equal number of men and women in its cabinet for the first time in history following the promotion of Northland MP, Willow-Jean Prime as a cabinet member.
With the promotion of Willow-Jean Prime, it now brings the number to 20 men and 10 women.
The move has been generating reactions according to the BBC who quoted New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Chris Hipkins as saying that it was a very good achievement.
The prime minister added that Ms Prime skills and existing portfolios stood her out from other candidates.
