A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has nullified the Ward and Local Government Congresses of the All Progressives Congress, APC conducted on the 7th of February, 2023 in Kogi State.
Delivering judgement on the matter, Justice James Omotosho set aside the congresses, saying they violated the provisions of the 2022 Electoral Act and the APC Constitution.
The Court also stopped the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) from recognising what it described as “unlawful delegates” that emerged from the congresses.
The Presiding Judge also ordered the APC leadership to conduct fresh congresses, in line with the Electoral Act, 2022, and the Party’s constitution.
