Rtd IGPs met at Arase’s instance, plans better policing

IGP Usman Alkali with Rtd IGPs addressing Journalists in Abuja on Wednesday

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali on Wednesday 12th April, met with the Chairman, Police Service Commission EX-IGP Dr Solomon Arase, at the Commission’s Headquarters, Jabi, Abuja.

The meeting which was at the instance of Dr. Arase, discussed issues affecting the Commission and the Nigeria Police Force, drawing experiences from the retired officers who have at various times piloted the affairs of the Force.

A Statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, says the retired IGP’s who graced the meeting includes; IGP Sunday Ehindero (Rtd.), IGP Mike Mbama Okiro (Rtd.), IGP Ogbonna Onovo (Rtd.) and IGP Suleiman Abba (Rtd.).

IGP Alkali while assuring of the commitment of the Force under the current leadership to positive collaborations with the Commission for effective implementation of the Police Reform agenda.

The Police Boss however, appreciated the PSC Chairman for the thoughtfulness in assembling the eggheads for the laudable meeting.

Responding the PSC Chairman, Dr Arase, appreciated the IGP and retired IGPs for honouring his invitation, assuring that the commission under him will not relent in making sure that the welfare of Police Officers and Men are well catered for.
