The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo says, Nigeria’s leadership role in delivering the sustainable energy future that Africa and the World must have in the next few years is very crucial and strategic.
To this end, the Vice President wants stakeholders in the oil and gas industry locally and globally, to work assiduously towards meeting this energy need.
Professor Osinbajo who stated this at the opening of the 2023 Energy Summit Exhibition Platforms in Abuja on Tuesday, called for a bridge in the gap in access to power and clean cooking fuels by the less privileged in society.
The representative of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, Mrs. Irene Itodo reiterated the Organization’s commitment to solidifying policies that would sustain the global energy mix with strengthened partnership with Africa and Nigeria in particular.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Ambassador Gabriel Aduda commended the strides so far achieved in the oil and gas sector with the hope for sustained progress going forward.
Highpoint of the event was a tour of the exhibition ground by the Vice President and some petroleum industry players.
