The Federal Government is to contest Court of Appeal’s re-instatement of Senator Ifeanyi Ararume as the Non-Executive Chairman of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, says President Buhari has taken due notice of judgement, and sues for calm from all sides involved.
It says although the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation is yet to receive a formal copy of the judgement, the President affirms that due judicial process will be followed as NNPCL has already taken steps to go on appeal.
The statement stresses that the administration respects the rule of law, saying that nothing will be done outside it to resolve the matter.
