Community mobilization strategies will enhance participation of the citizens in electoral process in Nigeria, a Civil Society Organization, NESSACTION, has said.
The Program Officer of NESSACTION, Ms. Esther Odoekwu stated this in Abuja during the presentation project on the activities of NESSACTION in 2023 elections.
Ms. Odoekwu observed that community mobilization reduced voter apathy in the electoral process.
According to her, Nigerians are getting more aware of the electoral process and they not only accept it, but clamour for the use of technological improvement for credible electoral process.
The Program Officer of NESSACTION emphasized that #YourVoterMatters Project supported many Nigerians in the FCT, Plateau and Nasarawa States to actively participate in the electoral process with the free bus transportation of the citizens for the collection of their PVCs.
Earlier, the Executive Director NESSACTION, ambassador Eniola Cole, said media organisations and other stakeholders were key to the success of the #YourVoteMatters Project which encouraged participation of citizens in the 2023 elections.
