The Bayelsa State Police Command has deployed Anti-Riot squad to restore normalcy at Kpansia Community in Yenagoa and environs, over the unfortunate murder of a community youth by a tricycle rider.

The youth was allegedly stabbed to death by the tricycle rider over a minor disagreement over N50 fares.

A statement by the Spokesman of the Command, Mr. Asinim Butswat condemns the action of the tricycle rider, who was also lynched to death by irate youths and appeal to members of the community to be calm.

Reports say the incident happened on Wednesday afternoon at the Saptex junction along the Melford Okilo Road in the Bayelsa State capital.

When our correspondent visited the scene, the lifeless body of the Keke rider was spotted alongside some burnt commercial tricycle as there was traffic in the area amidst heavy security presence to forestall any further breakdown of law and order.
