UCL: Interesting semi-final matchups

On Wednesday the Champions League quarter-final matches were concluded with interesting but predictable results.

Real Madrid defeated Chelsea 4-0 in a second consecutive season draw after dismantling Liverpool in the round of 16.The biggest question now is, can they run down a third British team?.

At this point, alot of football pundits are tipping Man City to lift the prestigious trophy after their surprise win over Bayern Munich with a 4-1 aggregate.

Man City Manager Pep Guardiola said he will be judged by the Champions League he wins with City.

Haaland, the hottest striker in Europe will be a puzzle Madrid should look for, with Riyad Mahrez another problem that the Bernabeu defence will desperately be seeking solutions to.

For the first time in over a decade, three Italian teams made it to the quarter-final stage after 7 time Champions AC Milan edged Osimhens Napoli 2-1 with the other Milan team Inter ran out 5-3 on aggregate. The last time an Italian club won the Champions League was back in 2010 and that club is Inter Milan.

Are we going to see a repeat of what happened last season were Madrid defeated Man City and then Liverpool to lift a record extending 14th UCL or would this be City’s turn to finally lay their hands on a trophy they have long sought, after Sheikh Mansour bought the club back in September of 2008.
