Two years after the abduction of dozens of schoolgirls from Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State, four of the remaining 11 girls in captivity have regained their freedom.
Chairman, Abducted Students Parents Association, Salim Kaoje, said Hafsat Murtala, Fa’iza Ahmed, Bina Musa and Rahama Abdullahi were those released on Saturday.
According to him, their release followed contribution of funds by Parents of the remaining Abducted students and the public.
“I cannot disclose the amount given to the abductors before the release of the 4 students because we are making efforts for the release of the remaining seven,” He stated.
He thanked those that contributed financially and with prayers to secure the release of the four students.
The Chairman, however, appealed to government at all levels to come to their aid to ensure the rescue of the remaining seven students.
Mr Kaoje said the freed students were taken to hospital for medical checkup before being united with their families.
Thirty students and one teacher of the Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri, were released last year.
