Flying Eagles drawn in Group D
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have been drawn in Group D alongside Brazil, Italy and the Dominican Republic for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The Young Selecao from Brazil are five-time winners of the competition while Dominican Republic are making their maiden appearance in the competition.
Flying Eagles won bronze at the just concluded
2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations held in Egypt.
Nigeria’s U-20 men’s team have reached the finals of the competition just twice, first in 1989 while the second came 16 years after in 2005.
Other African representative like Senegal are in Group C with Japan, Israel and Colombia.
The Young Scorpions of Gambia are in Group F containing heavy weights like France, Korea Republic and Honduras.
While Tunisia will have their hands full in Group E when they face Uruguay, Iraq and England.
FIFA gave Argentina the hosting right as the competition will be played from May 20 to June 11.
