Cristian Stellini
Tottenham Hotspur have sacked interim Italian manager, Cristian Stellini after they were humiliated by Newcastle United 6-1 on Sunday.
The sack has come as a shock to many since Stellini has not spent up to a month in the club’s dugout.
He was appointed on March 26 after fellow Italian, Antonio Conte was relieved of his duties following a post-match press conference in which he took a swipe at his players and club executive.
Ryan Mason, who worked under Stellini, has been appointed to take charge of Tottenham’s remaining matches.
Many Spurs supporters believe that, following the club’s demolition away to Newcastle on Sunday, it would be no easy ride for Mason as he attempts to salvage what is left of the team’s season.
Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League table, six points behind both Newcastle in third and Manchester United in fourth.
