Troops deployed to peacekeeping missions have been charged to remain focused, committed and deliver excellent leadership to promote the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
Chief of Operations Army headquarters, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja gave the charge in a message to the pre-deployment graduation ceremony of Nigerian company 8 ECOWAS mission in the Gambia, held at the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre, Jaji Kaduna State.
He charged the troops to desist from any form of incidents that could dent the image of Nigeria.
Major General Lagbaja reminded them of the zero tolerance policy of the Armed Forces and the United Nations on sexual exploitation and abuse, stating that appropriate sanctions would be taken against defaulters.
A total of one hundred and ninety-seven troops comprising fourteen officers and one hundred and eighty-three soldiers graduated after undergoing a four week intensive training.
