Osinbajo, Okonjo-Iweala to speak at Mo Ibrahim Forum Kenya

Nigeria’s Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and others will be guest speakers at the 2023 Mo Ibrahim Governance Weekend, this is according to the VP’s spokesperson Laolu Akande in a statement on Friday.

The statement says, the Vice President leaves Abuja on Friday for the event taking place in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Mo Ibrahim Foundation organisers of the annual forum, was established in 2006 with special focus on the importance of good governance and leadership in Africa as the theme for this year is “Global Africa.”

The forum also Ibrahim Governance Weekend (IGW), is expected to bring together leading voices from across the continent and beyond to discuss pertinent issues on Africa’s progress.

“Vice President Osinbajo has been invited as one of the guest speakers alongside other world leaders such as Kenyan President William Ruto, former President AFDB, Donald Kaberuka, and Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who is the Director-General WTO, among others,” the statement added.

Osinbajo is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony and also speak at the first session on Saturday.The VP will join other leaders to discuss “Africa’s Weight in the World while Highlighting the Continent’s Assets and Potentials.”

Asides participating in IGW, Osinbajo will hold bilateral meetings with Kenyan President William Ruto and the British Minister of State for Development and Africa, Rt. Hon. Andrew Mitchell.
