The Supreme Court has upheld the victory of Senator Ademola Adeleke as the authentic winner of the July 16 governorship election in Osun state.
In a unanimous judgment of a five man panel of justices, the Apex court dismissed the appeal of Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for lack of merit.
Justice Emmanuel Agih who read the lead judgment, held that the appellant (Adegboyega Oyetola ) failed to prove that there was over-voting in the governorship election held in the state.
According to the apex court, the appellant starved the court with evidences that the presiding officer did not comply with the electoral act, did not use the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS), and did not properly accredit voters in the 744 polling units.
