Tajudeen Abbas and Benjamin Kalu have been unveiled as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidates for Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives .
The unveiling ceremony took place at a meeting of the House Joint Task, in Abuja.
Tajudeen Abbas who spoke after the ceremony, said his nomination was based on competence.
Also speaking on his nomination, Benjamin Kalu said that the party has taken an inclusion step by choosing him.
According to him, the south east is going to feel the power of cohesion and that national loyalty is going to be driven by virtue of the decision.
“It was a wise decision to include the south easterners in the structure of government that is being formed”, Kalu said.
Kalu pledged to channel his energy to make sure that the APC is more rooted in the southeast.
