A medical Doctor, one Ayodele Joseph, who allegedly specialises in sedating and raping patients in his Ilorin hospital, has been arrested by police in Kwara State.
Parading the suspect at the Police headquarters in the state capital, the Commissioner of Police, Paul Odama said 13 other persons have also been arrested over Cultism, armed robbery, and Ritual killing.
According to Mr Odama, one female victim, a professional nurse (name withheld), reported to the police on May 5, 2023, that she had gone to Ayodele’s Hospital at Sawmill Area, Lagos Road, Ilorin, for surgery. There, she was sedated by the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Dr Ayodele Joseph, after which she became unconscious.
Mr Odama said before the patient was sedated, she, fearing any mishap, activated her telephone and placed it in a vantage position to record the surgery, unknown to the doctor.
Upon regaining consciousness, the patient discovered that she was stark naked.
Upon viewing the video recording, she found out that Dr Joseph had an unlawful carnal knowledge of her while under sedation.
Mr Odama said investigation had led the police to the recovery of the said video recording, supported by the result of medical examinations conducted on the victim.
He also revealed that the suspect, Dr Joseph, had recently been arraigned in court by the Police over unprofessional conduct, which resulted in the death of one Nneka Akanike at his hospital.
The Police Commissioner disclosed that the 13 other suspects were arrested in different parts of the state over offences ranging from armed robbery, cultism, possession of hard drugs to performing money making rituals.
