Twenty-seven-year-old Nigerian Chef, Hilda Bassey Effiong popularly known as Hilda Baci has broken the Guinness World Records for the longest cooking hours for an individual.
The Akwa Ibom state-born chef who started cooking on Thursday, the 11th of May, aimed to beat the previous record holder, an Indian Chef, Tata Lala who cooked for 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019.
Hilda has surpassed the time and as at the time of this report was still cooking.
The Guinness World Records is yet to recongnise the feat, saying it needs to review all the evidence before confirming a record.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday congratulated Hilda Baci for making history by breaking the world record of longest hours of cooking and for turning her talent and passion into a career.

The daring Chef Hilda had well-wishers troop in at the cooking venue, Amore Garden, Lekki, Lagos to cheer her up.
Among those that visited the venue are, the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu who on Sunday described the attempt as remarkable and a demonstration of the resilient spirit of Lagos and Nigerian values.
The Governor who chatted briefly with Hilda to boost her morale was offered a taste of some of the meals prepared, including Akwa Ibom’s traditional Edikan Ikong and Egusi soup.
Others who visited are Tiwa Savage, Teni Makanaki, Charlse Okocha amongst others.
An airline, also gifted her one year free ticket and three months free ticket to her mother.
Hilda is not on this mission alone, as her kitchen assistant Chef Sunny is seen encouraging, praising and praying for her in the kitchen.
The mission which was named ‘The Cookathon’ is expected to wind up at 4pm on Monday.
